Eligibility

A Indian Tourist Visa Online is issued to a foreign national whose primary intention is to visit India for recreational activities, sightseeing visits, informal encounters with friends or family, participation in a short-term yoga program, short-term medical treatment, including treatment under Indian medical practices, etc. and without any other purpose/activities.

• The passport shall be valid for at least six months from the arrival date in India and have two blank pages for the immigration officer to stamp.
• International passengers must have an onward or return ticket and enough money to stay in India.
• However, official and diplomatic passports are not eligible for tourist visas.
• Individuals who re-enroll in the passports of their spouses or parents are not eligible for tourist visas. Each individual is required to possess unique access.
• This visa is not available to those who hold international travel documents.

• You need to upload a front-facing photo with a white or plain background and a passport photo page with your info, like your name, date of birth, when your passport expired, and where you're from. You might get rejected if your uploads are more transparent and easier to read.

The validated India eVisa will be sent to the email address specified in the application. Processing time may be a few business days; most eVisas for India are processed within 48-72 hours. To expedite the process, print a copy and take it with you when you arrive in India to present it at the border checkpoint. Additionally, it is recommended to retain a copy of your e- visa throughout your journey.

Validity

eVisas will be valid for 60 days; 1year or 5years with a multi entry on tourist Visas. On a case-by-case basis, FRRO/FRO may extend the validity of eMedical Visas for six months based on the facts of each case. The reality of the tourist visa is as follows:

1. A multiple-entry Tourist Visa can be issued to nationals with the condition that the duration of stay during each visit can be at most 180 days, and there is no requirement for registration.
2. Except for nationals of the 160+ countries listed below, a multiple-entry tourist visa can be granted for five years as the default option. The grant of a 5-year tourist visa will be made with the condition that continuous stay for each visit will be 90 days, and no registration is required. However, the constant stay for nationals will be 180 days for each visit.
3. The provisions of bilateral agreements/policy guidelines issued periodically will apply.

Conditions of Tourist Visa

Repeat visits

A period of at least two months must proceed between two visits of a foreign countries on the foreign national falls into this category, they may have to return to India within two months of leaving due to an emergency, even if they haven't been granted a 5-year tourist visa by the Mission, turn to India within two months of their final departure due to an emergency.
